How do I buy
AutoTech?
Any user purchase the
AutoTech
package for a small one-time fee.
Once purchased, a user has lifetime access to and use of the
services that are included in the base package. Currently these

Over time,
additional base package services and features will be made available
to existing users at now additional charge. In addition, users can
trial and subscribe to a growing range of services that provide

Can I trial additional and future
AutoTech
modules?
Any
user or company can sign up for an obligation free, 30 day trial of
any
AutoTech
module at any time. At the end of the trial period, a user will be
prompted with a notice that gives an option to uninstall the
service, or continue on a subscription basis.
What are the system requirements for
AutoTech?
AutoTech
will operate on any PC running Windows XP with SP1 or later that is
connected to the Internet. A minimum of 1GB RAM and 500MB of free
disk space is recommended.
What are the overheads of
AutoTech?
AutoTech
consists of a small base package that is around 25Mb in size and in
itself has no impact on the performance of a user's PC. Once the
base package is installed, the individual service modules are then
loaded, and initially these consist of:

Optional service modules are also available for trial and
subscription. These include:

Desktop Security Module
Each of these modules are designed to work as background processes
that only consume system resources when the PC is idle. The Backup
module is responsible for creating a compressed and encrypted local
and remote copy of all of your selected business data. This does
require a certain amount of disk space to be available which is
proportional to the amount of data being backed up.
What does the Housekeeping Module do?
The
AutoTech
Housekeeping Module is responsible for ensuring a user's PC is
operating efficiently and that the basic PC housekeeping functions
are automatically performed. To accomplish this the Housekeeping
Module will:

Remove any unnecessary files that are no longer required.

Optimise the performance of your hard drive and
checks for available disk space.

Checks Hard Disk Drive health and auto schedules fix

Check that sufficient memory is available to support the
installed operating system

Checks CPU speed

Reports average memory and CPU utilisation

Reports upstream and downstream internet access speed

Checks Operating System for service packs

Check that your essential security services and settings are
installed and set

Show a history of the last 30 days results (green/yellow/red
with drill-down)
What does the Asset Module do?
The
AutoTech
Asset Module collects a wide range of information regarding the PC
hardware and software. This information is then available via online
reports and can be used for troubleshooting, upgrade planning,
license management, or to simplify IT asset management. In addition,
the Asset Module will automatically notify you if your hardware or
software environment changes – thereby making sure that you have an
audit trail of any changes and that unauthorised changes do not
occur without your knowledge.
Support Module
The
AutoTech
Support Module allows you to request instant support to help you
resolve any computer issues you may have. Simply by calling an 0900
support number you get direct access to qualified New Zealand based
IT support staff that can help you over the phone, or provide
real-time remote assistance by performing remote computer support of
your computer system as you talk. In addition, if on-site support or
assistance is required, we can quickly dispatch technical support
staff from any of our 16 Nationwide support centres.
Optional Backup Module
The
AutoTech
Backup Module is a fully automated PC backup solution that provides
an advanced, dependable and convenient way of protecting all of a
user's valuable data via the Internet with fast and easy data
restoration when required. Backup s can be either local, remote, or
a combination of both. All remote backup data is encrypted and
compressed before it leaves a user's PC and is stored on the Bizo
backup servers in our Auckland data centres. Users can quickly
restore single files or folders whenever they are needed without
having to wait for IT support staff or for the media that the backup
is stored on to be made accessible.
Optional Desktop Security Module
The
AutoTech
Desktop Security Module
advanced threat prevention to deliver an unmatched
defence against
malware for laptops, desktops, and servers. It provides protection
against even the most sophisticated attacks that evade traditional
security measures, such as rootkits, zero-day attacks, and mutating
spyware. This multilayered approach significantly lowers risks and
gives you the confidence that your business assets are protected. It

Can
AutoTech
work on a PC behind a firewall?
Absolutely. autoTech uses the same resources as your web browser. If
you can access the internet then autotech will work.
If your firewall stops outgoing connections from your computer then
you will have to configure your firewall to allow autotech to
connect to the autotech server at autotech_support.bizoservices.com
Can
AutoTech
work on a PC behind a
proxy server?
Absolutely. autoTech has been designed to work with proxy servers.
You can enter your proxy server details during the installation of
autotech, or after installation via the autotech system tray menu.
